Friday's Kind Words: Words and Tools

I wanted to take a moment to say thank you for the wonderful stories... I love the ability to have that time be part of my six-year-old's social-emotional curriculum... ~Natasha

Sparkle Kitchen: Fromage Forte

Fromage forte (“strong cheese”) is a French cheese spread that is made from odd bits and pieces of cheese. (Odd bits and pieces of any cheese, like, whatever you have in your fridge right this second.) The cheese is broken up and mixed in a food processor with chicken stock until it's a spreadable consistency.

Storybox Playlist: Serving Up Gratitude for Thanksgiving

Feeling overwhelmed? Frustrated? Cynical? Resentful? Well there is a cure-all for this sort of thing - and in my experience, it works every time. Better than coffee, better than wine, better than a tropical beach and even better than sea salt and almond dark chocolate. It is gratitude. Here are some stories to help you on your way.

Sparkle Weekly Wonderings: Veteran's Day - Military Families

For the last few weeks I’ve been talking to military spouses about life as an Army, Navy, Air Force, or Marine family. I’ve learned a great deal in the process. I have had many friends who grew up in military families, but I now have even more appreciation and respect for this community.

Homemade hot chocolate is a soothing comfort that will help with both literal and figurative winter chills, but the logistics of delivering it can be difficult. Building Resilience After Sudden Tragedy

It will take a long time for the people of Texas to recover from the church shooting in Sutherland Springs. There will be strong emotions and a flood of support (as was the case after the Houston flood) — but there will also be a deep desire to find meaning. How did this happen?
