Sparkle Weekly Wonderings: The Light in the Darkness: Sparkle Solstice
Candlelight in the dining room. A lighthouse shimmering from the open sea. The first star in the evening sky. These all carry the magical mood of Winter Solstice.
Whereas our friends in the Southern Hemisphere are experiencing the inverse, the shadow cast from a single tree, a cave in a rocky cliff and a cloud passing over a bright blue sky - we in the north are standing in the darkness … and looking to the light.
This time is precious to me and my family. We have so much history connected to the solstice - so much magic and tradition and context - from evening spiral walk to lighting the candles of advent - the solstice holds promise in a curious and often confusing world.
May our stories be a part of that promise.
And may your solstice - whether it be dark to light or light to dark - be filled with the gift of both.
