As parents, we want kids to move, to get outside, to get off devices. Storytelling is a great motivator to get folks off screens- and capture a little magic while doing so! And our kids aren't the only ones who can benefit from that. Come join us as we discuss storytelling in action! But what do we mean by “Storytelling in Action”? Join us as we explore this question, from the perspectives of movement, science, nature, and more! We’ve organized this panel discussion to help spark and rekindle curiosity, wonder, adventure, and imagination for parents too!

More About David Sewell McCann

David Sewell McCann fell in love with spinning stories in first grade – the day a storyteller came to his class and captured his mind and imagination. Out of his experience as a dad and elementary school teacher, he has developed a four step method of spontaneous pedagogical storytelling, which he now shares through workshops and an upcoming book. David is also the host of “The Storying Project”, a new podcast from Sparkle Stories in which Each guest shares their perspective on messages that the world’s children need to hear … through story.

More About The Storying Project

Our goal with this new podcast is to craft relevant and healing stories by way of a conversation.

As a practiced old-school storyteller, David Sewell McCann has produced hundreds of stories. His process involves paying attention, listening to his heart, stepping into curiosity, and ultimately trying to get out of the way of the true story. With The Storying Project podcast, David and a guest navigate this process together. Through a live conversation, they ultimately discover a brand new, original audio story for children aimed at exploring the question:

“What do children need to hear right now?”
